Pediatric Urology Surgeon/hospital recommendations

My son needs a Orchidopexy and I would like to have the procedure done privately to avoid the NHS waiting list. Does anyone have recommendations for a particular Pediatric Surgeon or private hospital within the Midlands area?. Thanks

Have you asked your GP does he recommend anyone privately instead of waiting for the NHS x

No I have not, but that's a good point, I will contact my GP and see if he has any suggestions, thank you.

Find out who you’d be referred to normally & see if they do private? Doesn’t have to be a urologist - ours are also done by paed general surgeons.

It may need to be a massive private hospital to do paediatrics (the UK spelling), but the majority of consultant urologists would do private consultations. I would be tempted to stick with a urology surgeon for this issue rather than a general surgeon

Thank you all for your advice. I've found out that the NHS hospital he's been referred to have some consultants who see patients privately. Just waiting to see what consultants are available now. Thanks again.

Mr Rajimwale in Leicester is meant to be extremely good. He will be performing my son's hypospadias surgery and also does private work as far as I know

He is off sick atm though so you may have to wait to see him

Mr McCarthy at Birmingham Children's- I'm not sure whether he does private though. He's my son's Urologist and has operated on him several times.
