Has anyone had a DC with hypertrichosis (excessive hair growth)?

DS2 has developed a patch of unusual hair growth on his right thigh, it might also be developing on his knees.

He is suffering from severe leg, knee and back pain at the moment and I think they might be connected.

He had a similar patch a few years ago after a really bad bang to his shin.

He's also got a history of ITP (low platelet count). We're waiting for a referral to Paediatrics for a review but it's taking ages for the appointment to come through.

What is hypertrichosis?
Hypertrichosis is excessive hair growth over and above the normal for the age, sex and race of an individual, in contrast to hirsutism, which is excess hair growth in women following a male distribution pattern. Hypertrichosis can develop all over the body or can be isolated to small patches.
Hypertrichosis may be congenital (present at birth) or acquired (arises later in life).
