11 year old 4 days of vomiting

We had a d&v bug doing the rounds. DD was sick for 22 hours Wednesday-Thursday then seemed to improve, but she's been sick once yesterday morning and once in the early hours of this morning. She's scared to eat (she ate apple and dry crackers yesterday but wanted an orange in the evening, which was obviously a bad idea). How can I help?

I think you can go one of two routes with an 11 year old. You either tell her that she needs to have bland food (clear fluids, crackers or dry toast) to rest her tummy, or you tell her to eat what she wants because it will either stay down or come up, but it's less painful to vomit when you have something in your stomach to vomit.

I hope she recovers soon. Flowers

Ring 111

Lots of flat pop, ideally Coke or lemonade. I used to work at the 111 and this was the advice we would give. It settles the stomach and also provides sugar. Try have it at room temperature too, sips not gulps.

This happened to my dd, I gave her tiny sips of lucozade and it stopped the vomiting. Call 111 thoigh if worried

Thank you all. We've managed to settle her stomach during the day, following your helpful tips, but she has woken up vomiting three days in a row. I rang 111 and we've seen a doctor. Thank you all for your advice.
