Can anybody advise? So my child fractured their fibula just before her 7th birthday. The first winter it was a bit achy, the second one it was noticeably painful in cold weather. I took them to the G.P. Who said don’t worry it’s normal go home. This last few months it’s started again with cold weather pain so I took them back to the G.P. This time we had an XRay I just had a message to say there is a fragment “it could be normal or it could be related to the previous fracture” they have referred to a specialist. They have no idea of how long that it would take for her to be seen, so they are unable to tell me if it’s days weeks or months. I’m pretty sure that any fragment on that site is related to the previous fracture and I’m not happy. I can’t even get a telephone appointment with her doc until end of next week. So should she even be using this leg? Could the fragment be dangerous to the ankle joint? The fracture was very near the growth plate at the base of the bone. Wondering what to do next and given that it’s taken years to get even to this frustrating point after being rebuffed once I’m wanting to make sure that this is dealt worth properly.
