3 year old daughter Fungal infection

My 3 year old daughter has a bad fungal infection. Across her thighs and inside & outside private parts. Dr has given her clotrimazole cream for nearly 8 weeks now and says there is nothing else we can do but carry on with this treatment. Does anyone have any advice please or is there any stronger or different treatments we could try? Please I really need some help here.

I'd be back at the docs, that sounds really painful. Have they taken swabs to make sure it is a yeast infection? If not then ask for them to be done, and also check in case it's resistant to clotrimazole? Not all antifungals will treat all yeasts.

If that's all fine, so a sensitive yeast is found, is your DD may be immunosuppressed? I know diabetics are more prone to yeast infections because they can have too much sugar hanging around.

I always recommend neem oil for fungal or yeast infections.it was a game changer when DC had horrendous thrush as a toddler. It pongs a bit but was worth it - three weeks of prescription meds did nothing and three days of neem oil had the skin almost perfect again . Hope your DC is on the mend soon.

Hi, you know the neem oil did it come mixed with a carrier oil or did you use just pure neem oil? Thanks Emma

I used pure neem oil. I got it in a health food shop. A friend got a neem cream which didn't seem to work as well for her dc

So my daughter got referred to a consultant Childrens dermatologist. She was put on a stronger anti fungal steroid for the last 4 weeks. Which seems to have cleared the fungal infection. However due to being on steroids for many months she has developed a brown skin patch. The GP says this will hopefully go over time.
