Worried about my 18 month old stomach bug or something else? Feeling puzzled!

Im just wondering if my baby simply has a stomach bug or is it something else?

He was sick during the night on Wednesday, the next day he wasn't sick at all and seemed his usual self other than not eating very much. However on Thursday around 6pm he projectile vomited a huge amount for someone so little and someone having eaten so little and was extremely upset.

He was fine all of Friday and Saturday, no sickness and normal hard poo, eating a little better but still not loads. However today (Sunday) he has been having constant diarrhoea (following may be tmi) which is very very pale brown and runny and smells awful Blush. I've probably changed his nappy about 15 times today, he's fine in himself, running around outside, playing, full if energy etc. What could this be? To have a day of sickness, 2 days of being fine and then a whole day of runny poo?

Sorry if this is tmi I'm just puzzled (its happened again as I type this so off I go again Grin)

That sounds very much like a tummy bug . My 2 DC had something similar recently , (sick all night , fine for a day and night , then diarrhoea for 5 days! ) was an absolute nightmare regarding time off work etc. keep him topped up on fluids and give rehydration sachets if his energy levels dip.

Obviously Go with your gut instinct and if you feel he needs to see a doctor then ring your gp. Hope your little man feels better soon.

Yeah sounds like a tummy bug working it’s way through his system.
I think he will be fine. As said above, keep him hydrated and get him plenty of sleep.

Thanks Guys! He was fine overnight and nothing this morning either so fingers crossed, he seems to be drinking a normal amount as well so hopefully it's all passed Smile

Yes this has happened to my ds before as well, stomach bugs in little ones can act like this. My ds threw up on a Wednesday night, fine Thurs n frid, threw up again on the Saturday afternoon, then Sunday all day diarrhea.
