DS just woke up itching like mad, I thought he was being dramatic then I had a look and his body is covered in a raised rash.

Any ideas what it is? I haven't a clue!

Hives. He's had an allergic reaction to something. Probably something he ate. Hydrocortisone cream will help with the itching. You might want to go to the gp just to make sure you figure out what he is allergic to. Please make a list of what he ate, drank or put on his body yesterday, before you go to the gp.
You can also give him Claritin to reduce the hives.

Forgot to say that the hives can also be viral (after reaction from a cold). I used to get this all the time as a child.

Uticaria commonly known as hives. Give antihistamines this morning and probably GP appointment. Try to narrow down what he might have had a reaction to. And it’s also good to know that each reaction can get worse, so it’s important to figure out what it was.

Urticaria even

Yeah they're hives, my dd gets them if she's really poorly, the first scared me to death especially as she had flu at the time and was only about 18 months old!

Thank you for the responses, I've given him some cetirizine! He had food allergies but was tested 6 months ago and he'd grown out of them, or so we thought!

We went to a party yesterday and I'm trying to think what he had that was different!
The only thing I can think of was those cartons of juice you can get that you pop the straw through? But I'm sure he's had those at parties before!
