to wake up or not to wake up?

7 month old had 3rd set of vaccinations today. He's had 2 doses of calpol. He was sticky so gave him a cool bath and straight to bed. He's asleep now but feels hot. Thermometer isn't working (says his temp is 2 degrees Celsius 🤦🏼‍♀️) so has gone in the bin. It's very old!

He feels quite warm. Should I wake him up to give him calpol? Or just let him sleep?

I would just let him sleep. Maybe remove a blanket or open his sleeping bag if he feels a bit warm.

Yes, let him sleep. But be prepared to have a session in the night where he wakes up and is unsettled. Give calpol then if you can (or ibuprofen) and you may need to stay up with him while it takes effect.
Hopefully your night will be peaceful and he will wake up feeling better tomorrow!

Keep the calpol handy, so you can quickly dose him up if he wakes.

We co-sleep. I've got the duvet off him and he's just in his nappy. He's been in and out of hospital (he's ok now) so I'm scared of everything ☹️

Touch his forehead with your lips. You could feel if the forehead is cool, warm or hot or very hot.

saveusernameplease · 22/05/2019 22:58

@Itssosunny he's very warm. I'm going to give him some calpol.

Woke him up to give him calpol and he's gone straight back to sleep. I hate how anxious I am.

Is he settling at all op? Poor bub and poor mum Thanks

Nogodsnomasters · 23/05/2019 14:56

Aww op I'm sorry, I've totally had nights like that and they are soul destroying and filled with worry. Has he reacted like this with other vaccinations or is there a chance he's got sick at the same time?
