A week ago my 11 year old woke up with one of his eyes glued shut with yellow gunk and the other one gunky but he could open it. Went to gp who sent us to hospital. Spent 8 hours there, while they thought he l but have cellulitis and came home with a diagnosis of conjunctivitis and given eye drops. Now his eyes are loads better than they were and the gunk is all gone but his eyes are still red and watery and he keeps rubbing them. Not sure whether to leave it or go back to the gp. Dh thinks I'm worried about nothing and I admit it really scared me when they were talking about cellulitis and iv antibiotics last week so I could be just being silly. Ds is fine in himself, doesn't seem ill or have a temperature.
