Any dentists around? 10 year old's tooth cracked this morning

He was eating breakfast which is a homemade muesli with nuts in it and felt a crack. When I looked, one of his molars has cracked from top to bottom. It is a baby tooth and he says it is a little wobbly. He was upset when it happened and says it is a little "weird" to feel but he is not in pain.

I called our dentist emergency number which is listed on their website and it just gave me another number to call. When I called that, it said it was the London Dental Service but no longer operates and to call 111. I did not bother with 111. The dentist opens at 8:30 am tomorrow so my plan is just to leave it until then and call and ask them to fit us in.

My question is actually more about why this might happen? I have two older boys and this never happened with them. Also, what is the dentist likely to do? I assume it will need to be pulled out and I would like to prepare ds for what might happen. Will he need an injection? Although the tooth is a little wobbly, it is certainly not ready to come out. He had a tooth a while back that was literally hanging by a thread when he had a routine appointment with the dentist. The dentist pulled it and ds found that painful and traumatic!
