Asthma - any experience of salt rooms?

My DS aged 10 is taking pulmicourt and singulaire.

He has been very emotional, anxious, tearful and it's getting worse. I believe it could be a side effect of the drugs and so we are stopping pulmicourt under advice of paediatrician.

I'd actually like to stop the singulaire too but that would be irresponsible right now.

Can I ask you about any alternative therapies? We have a salt room locally. Any experience of successes of otherwise? Any other suggestions? We are in the middle east; air quality is awful.
