Hello, my lo has had chickenpox for almost 3 weeks now they have crusted and are going away but I'm concerned that he's now started with a cough and burning up (highest temp through night) today he's also been throwing up! He isn't eating much but drinking. Anyone got any advice?
Thanks

Give your doctor a call? Could be a secondary infection he has picked up as his immune system is low (happened to DS). 3 weeks is a long time for chicken pox. How old is he and what was the temp? In the meantime encourage him to drink plenty

He was 2 in October and his temp was 37.1 after medication had brought it down but through night it has been a lot higher I could feel the heat from him when I was sat next to him but stupidly I didn't take his temp he was so upset he wouldn't let me leave his side. His coughing has got gradually worse from yesterday I've rung drs but no appointments 🙄 he's on the cancellation list. He's ok in himself but I'm just panicking

If he is drinking, ok in himself and temp coming down with medication try not to worry too much. He has probably just picked up a bug on the back on the pox. Keep an eye on him and if he feel he is getting much worse or stops drinking phone 111 to get an ooh appointment

Ok will do thank you for the advice 😁 his cough seems to be gradually getting worse throughout the day so I'll keep an eye on him

Try a little honey and lemon maybe? There is not much you can give them for a cough before they are 6 (and DS did not like the 6+ cough medicine) apart from glycerine syrups. Hope he gets better soon and don't be afraid of phoning 111 for advice. It's what they are there for (I have phoned them twice and never been sent to A+E which seems to be the standard crictism of them on here). Both Ds and I have a nasty bug at the mo so I feel for you

It seems to be one thing after another lately with bugs hope you get better soon and thank you so much for your advice 😁
