What could this be? 8 year old DD's palms have started peeling (a bit), but the soles of her feet feel really thickened, dry and cracked in the course of about a week. No changes to washing powder, shoes or weather!

Could she have had a really mild dose of hand foot and mouth?

I don't think so. She hasn't had any other symptoms, and is well in herself.

There is a type of eczema that affects palms of hands and soles of feet which causes peeling and cracking of the skin. I can't remember the name of it but I used to work with someone who had it. Theres probably a few things it could be so I think I would try to get her a GP appointment. Hope you get it sorted.
