So my six year old son has been having frequent nosebleeds since he was about four years old. They usually happened during night time and were not that sever. though a couple of months ago he slept through a nosebleed and the pillow looked like a murder scene, that really freaked me out. And since that time he's had other severe nosebleeds, so today i finally took him to ENT and they ended up cauterise his nasal vessels. Does anyone have any tips on how i should care for him. He was in so much pain just after the procedure but after some pain relief pills he now seems to be in good spirits. But i am still worried on the do's and dont's of what should be done after the procedure. The doctor pretty much gave me the ABCs but i would appreciate hearing from other people their own experience.

Aw poor thing! I had mine done, I must have been about 8 so can’t really help with the aftercare, but just to let you know, it did really help! I was having nosebleeds all the time, one that prompted the cauterising was about 4 hours long 😄 rarely get them now, only in the heat! So it did make a great difference.

Follow the doctors instructions first before randos on the internet. Few of us have taken 8+ years of medical education.
