Tea tree oil for cradle cap. Should I be worried

My baby is nine months old and has a touch of cradle cap. I didn't have any coconut oil so I decided to put tea tree oil on it, completely forgetting that you're supposed to mix it with a carrier oil.
I put about 3 drops on his head while he was in the bath and brushed it over with a wet brush. He does have a reasonable amount of hair. I checked his head just before he went to sleep when I realised what I'd done and it didnt seem be going red or anything. I don't know if I should wake him up and re wash his hair or just leave it til morning. Obviously I'd rather not wake him up. Any advice appreciated, thanks.

I'd go and just rub some olive oil on the scalp

Btw tea tree kills nits so goes great in the hair justbit by itself Wink

He'll be fine, relax Grin

No need for tea tree in future just olive or carrier oil like almond and gently massage. Like other suggested don’t worry, rub bit oil onto where you’ve put tea tree

It’ll be fine-you brushed water over it so effectively diluted it anyway.

Thanks everyone. I decided to ask dr Google and got really paranoid.

I've had other essential oils undiluted on my skin and it hurts like hell (don't put orange oil on your pillow people, it's not a relaxing as you think) so I'd say if he's not screaming blue murder it's fine.

I wouldn't worry too much, rinse it out. I used baby oil on my daughter and a comb and it did the job

Use Olive Oil.

DD5 still has a tiny bit, after all these years.
