Ds went in for prolonged jaundice screening at 2 weeks old.
The results were all fine apart from elevated ALP (alkaline phosphorate). The doctor wasn’t too concerned but wanted to retest in another 2 weeks to ensure they had returned to normal.
We went in again last Friday and were called later that day to say the the levels had increased further so more tests were required, and we went in the next day.
So far I’ve not heard back and I called the hospital to be told the results had been emailed to a consultant but he is on leave and aparantly no one else can action them.
I’m going out if my mind with worry as high ALP can be linked to liver disease and bone problems and I can’t stop googling which I know won’t help, it’s making me more anxious.
Also I googled the consultants name and he is the children’s palliative care consultant which makes me concerned that this is very serious.
Does anyone have any experience with this that could help? Thanks.
