Hi

My son has a tight foreskin (he's just turned 9).

GP gave steroid cream and told him to pull it back gently.

It worked! Everything was perfect. Stopped using the cream.

Now a month down the line, it's gone back to it's non retractable self.

Any ideas what to do now?

Son was told by the GP to pull it back and wash gently.

Son said he hasn't been doing it.

If your DS isn't willing / bothered to do as the doctor suggested, it might be better to get him circumcised. Uncircumcised boys who don't wash under the foreskin can get nasty infections - and believe me , you don't want to go there.

My brother was circumcised at around that age (perhaps a little later) and has always been very glad it was done. He wouldn't have wanted it to be done 'just because' when he was a baby, but he said that by the time he had the procedure the discomfort was enormous and he was so relieved it was all over and done with.

Hello

Thank you.

We never realised it was tight until we went for another issue.

I did ask the GP if the skin could return to its former state and she said no, so I am a little surprised.

I suppose using the cream again and them making him pull it back and wash ill keep the skin stretched?

xx

Apologies for my spelling, especially in the title - my computer keys are sticky - must be from being overworked Grin

If he cant be bothered to pull it back, he needs to be circumcised really
