Has anyone tried baby cranial osteopathy or chiropractors?

My 6 week old cries pretty much the whole time she is awake and will not be put down anywhere to sleep during the day. She cries in the car, buggy and sling. I am getting rather desperate and wondered if cranial osteopathy or chiropractor visit could help. Anyone tried either? X

We took DS to an osteopath when he was about 9 weeks old as he was only turning his head in one direction and was getting a misshapen head. Turns out that he was carrying a lot on tension along his left side from his neck right down his body to his legs. It was also causing reflux. It was all mainly down to how he was lying in the womb. 2 sessions later his head had a much better range of movement and his reflux was much better.

Personally I'm a big fan, you've nothing to loose. It doesn't look like they are doing much at the time as it's tiny manipulations in their head and necks they work on and use very gentle massage and pressure to release the tension etc.

DS is now almost 6 months old and his head shape has vastly improved!

My baby also cried ALL DAY EVERYDAY. I tried everything including cranial osteopathy in London at a well known children's clinic. 6 plus sessions.

Did fuck all.

My baby cried all day everyday for the next 2 years.

However ..... he is now the most delightful 5 Year old ever!

Hang in there and do whatever you need to do

We did cranial osteopathy for my son.. complete game changer. He didn’t use to lie with his head flat but then started to, he was soooo much happier and colic improved.

Dd2 had cranial osteopathy, as she was colicky. It worked wonders. I wish I’d discovered it with dd1.

My DS has just finished his course with the cranial osteopathy. He has been much better and I think it will defiantly make your baby more comfortable even if they are a cryer.
My son is miles better now at 5 months but the bigger picture was silent reflux and an undiagnosed milk allergy, are you breast feeding? If so cut dairy and soya totally out until 12 weeks then try reintroduce. If not then you really need to push at the GP. I was ignored and passed off as crazy, as my son was putting weight on and didn't have a rash etc. Once they eventually listened (after many trips to A&E) they have changed his formula to a milk free formula (neonate) speak to health visitor they may be able to give you advice on how to approach your GP. Xx

Thank you all for responses. @thairedcurry (mmm btw!) No she is formula fed...which I worry could be part of the problem., although she doesn't cry durung/ after feeding, more when I put her down!
@todayiwin that really made me chuckle. Not really funny at all - for you or I- but did make me smile!!
Sounds like some positive experiences then, definitely worth a shot! Trying not to pin hopes on it as a miracle cure!! Thanks again x

@mummatobeut yes I am pretty desperate too! She SEEMS to be settling slightly but it is still taking 1 hour to settle her after each night feed (she is currently resting on me after a good brisk pace around the room for 20 mins). We already switched formula and that seemed to be a bit better.... she just is windy and wakes hersf parping and thrashes arpund after a feed but i cant seem to get baby burps up no matter what I try! I rub, I pat, I stand, I pace, I sit her upright on my chest for 30mins post feed... no burps. So yes, worth a shot!!!
