Baby struggling with food following sickness bug

I’m looking for some advice re my 11 months old.

She started bringing up her milk for the last week following a cold/ear infection. It then went into full blown diarrhoea and sickness for a few days where nothing would stay down. She’s now just bringing up her milk and is point blank refusing savoury foods.

I can literally only get her to eat a bit of yoghurt and sometimes a bit of porridge. I really don’t know what to give her, I’m not even sure it’s worth giving her the milk as she just brings it up??? We took her to the Drs and they said as long as she’s having water forget about everything else but she’s getting very weak so I would like to start introducing food back in. Bananas etc make her sick, she seemed to fancy a crumpet yesterday but kept almost choking on it (she would normally be fine) Why would she continue to bring up the milk even though the bug seems to be gone? Any advice on this or what foods to try would be great!

One of mine used to get quite milk intolerant after bugs. We switched milk for diluted pear (Heinz baby?) juice or apple juice. Stewed apple or pear and cream crackers or bread sticks were also good. Yoghurt's a good call. You could try a bit of baby rice in the fruit or yoghurt.

Tricky when they're still so little though. I hope she feels better soon.

Has she got a sore throat? That can make them gag on food, which then kicks of vomiting. As well as hurting on the way down.
