If it’s not cystic fibrosis what is it?

I was wondering if anyone had been through similar and could share?
My dd has too much mucus, way way too much, with a chronic cough and lack of tears.
We’re working our way though some tests, the cystic fibrosis sweat test is next week. I’m sure she doesn’t have cf as physically, apart from the mucus/cough/tears thing she is well. Really really healthy.
Has anyone gone through similar? Dr Google isn’t suggesting anything.

Enlarged Adenoids possibly could explain the mucus. And the mucus dropping down the throat causing the cough. But I’m not sure about the lack of tears? I’m not a medic - I only know lack of tears as being dehydration? Is it a symptom of cf then?

Or an allergy?

It could be an allergy, causing post nasal drip that can lead to coughing.
My ds is a CF carrier and has bad chest/ nasal issues, along with poor weight gain, haven’t heard of the lack of tears in CF in all my reading up on the subject.
