Ever heard of a 24h virus that comes and goes?

My 5yo dd had a virus (I’m assuming) a couple of weeks ago. She was radiating heat and very tired. It lasted a couple of days and then went away. Randomly, last week, it came back for a day and went away again. And today, it’s back. Do viruses do that or it is more likely something else?

Are the symptoms the same each time, a day of fever and lethargy? I wouldn't say that was the same virus causing that over and over in such a short space of time. She's either catching something new each time or something else is going on. I would keep note of all the goings on with her and take to the doctors after the weekend for some advice.

Periodic fever syndrome of some kind?
