1 y/o enlarged spleen & liver

Hi,

My little boy has had recurrent tonsillitis and a water infection. At his pediatric appointment upon examination they found an enlarged spleen and liver.

He's getting baseline bloods done and because he had tonsillitis at the time we went to the appointment they've done a swab to see if they can find what bacteria is causing all the tonsillitis.

My question is has anyone had any experience of their little one having an enlarged spleen and liver?

Well my daughter had this when she had heart failure - probably not what you wanted to hear!

Fingers crossed that it's glandular fever (which can give you very nasty tonsillitis).

His blood tests came back as normal so now he's having more tests to check his immune system. Another 2 weeks to wait as he's on antibiotics so can't have blood taken till he's finished the course 😭

Sounds very much like my daughter, she is 8 now and is under investigation for periodic fever syndrome.
