Croupy sounding cough and sore itchy red eyes

Could it be hayfever? Ds 13 yrs not stopped this croup sounding cough and feels unwell. Has itchy red eyes. Cant sleep. Tried paracetamol and eye drops. Had him to the pharmacy today who suggested conjunctivitis (which I'm sure it isnt) just trying antihistamines now see if they help. Anyone have any experience of this???

Sounds very like hayfever/allergy.
Antihistamine us your best bet.

The eyes sound like allergy the croupy cough doesn't. He may actually have croup so keep a close eye on it.

We've been to the doctors. Possible chest infection. Unclear if allergy related. He's got antihistamines and ventolin. Go back if it worsens. Thus far we seem to be on the right side of it. He's still unwell. Week off school....
