Should I be worried about this on dc’s foot?

Have attached a photo....

It looks like some sort of bruising but Iv not seen a bruise like this as it’s sort of smudgy. It doesn’t wash off and he hasn’t bashed it. It has appeared over night? Walking etc fine, said it stung when I rubbed it.

Just looks like they’ve bashed it to me, wait it out and if it doesn’t fade then maybe be concerned. But it really looks harmless

Are they lumpy or smooth?

Ilmb · 15/06/2018 13:26

It’s smooth. He’s gone to school so I’ll see what it’s like then. It does look like he’s bashed it but he definitely hasn’t. He’s 10, not a toddler, hadn’t put that in the op if it makes a difference sorry.

Just looks like a bruise to me.

Yes not doubting it’s a bruise, Iv just not seen one that’s blotchy like This one and he hasn’t knocked his foot at al.

if your child is anything like mine they have bruises like that appear all the time without realising what they’ve done. could be something simple as somebody stood on his foot and he forgot. i would just wait to see if it fades like a normal bruise.

gryffen · 15/06/2018 16:46

Looks like a bruise and his veins are close to surface so probably a mixture of both. If you touch his skin and a bruise appears THEN get to doctor asap but kids will be kids!

Ok thanks. He’s not 100% at the moment, been complaining his thighs hurt since swimming on Wednesday, which I think he’s pulled a muscle. guess I’m being paranoid!

could it be he is out growing his shoes? I sometimes get marks if I wear certain pairs of shoes which are a little bit small (but so gorgeous!)

I don’t think so? I will check though...
