Bluetooth wireless headset for a 14 year old - how safe for prolonged wear?

Just that really. DS is a typical teenager who will spend as many hours in the day as he can get away with, glued to his gaming PC which is in a busy shared space at home. Headset gives him some privacy and he can wear it for up to 3 hours at a time ( not that I approve of that and certainly do my best to limit his gaming hours!)
He's just kindly been gifted a wireless headset which he loves. I'm concerned about the potetial effects of the Bluetooth technology on his developing brain, though, and can't seem to find any clear guidance as to how safe it is for him (indeed anyone) to wear this on his head especially for hours at a time. Gift giver says radiation levels will be low and it's safe. I'm still wondering but don't want to be churlish over such a kind gift. Does anyone have any hard information which supports either for or against Bluetooth usage in headsets in teens?

Really grateful if anyone can advise, especially if hard evidence either way could be demonstrated. Thanks in advance wonderful Mumsnetters.
