Tell me about coughs and colds in baby’s first year

DS is really under the weather again with a heavy cold. He’s 7 months old and came out a week too early (reduced movements) and from birth has had issues to do with gummy lungs, bronchiolitis and general coughs ahoy.

Nothing ever proper serious but I can count on one hand the times he’s been “in the pink of health”.

The other thing is he’s just stated nursery and I know they are germ factories which is fine but he just never seems to have been without a cold since birth.

I don’t know what I’m asking really, was your baby constantly suffering in their first year? What “sounds” tell the difference between a cheery cough and something worse? DD is nearly 3 and definitely had colds and bugs in the first year but he just seems plagued with his chest.

Some are, some aren't. Mine wasn't but friends always were. He's strengthening his immune system. Probably won't have hardly any later on Grin
