My 5yo broke out with Chicken Pox 8 days ago. It passed quickly and she’s now back at school BUT my 7 month old still hasn’t any symptoms and I’m terrified we’re going to have to cancel our holiday. Is it possible that she may not get it?? Has this happened to anyone? It’s 7 days after last spot appears to fly and time is running out if she doesn’t get it very soon!! Would be v grateful for anyone’s experiences of similar situation. Do little ones usually get it worse or less severely?? All my other friends the siblings have had CP at the same time... I’m beside myself worrying about it....

Is she breastfed? My baby dc didn’t get it when my older ones did, I assumed she got some immunity from me.

KitKatCHA · 10/05/2018 21:49

It was dead on 14 days between my eldests first spot and DC2 and DC3s first spots. All three were about the same in terms of severity. Fingers crossed for you!

ellsbells2 · 10/05/2018 22:04

14 days between my two as well.

Stylinson · 10/05/2018 22:07

Yep, 14 days here too

Swishswish26 · 10/05/2018 22:10

We were exactly 14 days too. Fingers crossed your little one doesn’t get it.

Thanks ladies. That means she’s likely to break out on 16th which is too late for clearance to fly... oh I could cry 😢😢😢 I’ll pray she doesn’t get it but think it’s very unlikely....

There was exactly 21days between my older 2 getting it. Fingers crossed you'll still get your holiday x

helsybells · 11/05/2018 11:42

Thanks Whirliebird that would mean we could go but she would break out on holiday so not ideal and have come accross some horror stories of foreign hotels not being v tolerant of CP.... 😬😬😬

My youngest DD came out in CP the second day of our holiday, we were given many stares the odd time we left our villa and took her for a short walk as many countries vaccinate so they just don't see it anymore. We had to stay an extra week before we were allowed to fly home and had to show written confirmation at the airport. Fingers crossed it all goes ok.

GetTaeBed · 12/05/2018 14:30

Could you get het vaccinated?

Utini · 12/05/2018 14:33

They'll only give the vaccine from 12 months old unfortunately.

20 days from the first spot on the eldest to the youngest getting it here. We had a cancel a holiday which was just awful at the time.

The insurance were happy to pay out though which was something.

You never know... mine were exposed to it so many times at nursery and didn't get it so it's not inevitable.

SoyDora · 12/05/2018 18:22

7 days between my 2 getting it, although they did attend the same pre school so DD2 didn’t necessarily catch it from DD1. We had a holiday booked too and DD2’s last spot scabbed over the day before we were due to go!

MrsMotherHen · 12/05/2018 18:30

14 days here too from my two good luck.
