What's this thing about duct tape for verrucas?

The chemist has given us Bazuka for DD's verucca. The instructions say to put it on daily after filing down the skin and I understand it will take a month or two to get rid. Fine. Except she can't keep her foot still for the filing bit as it tickles too much!

Whoops...posted too soon...

So what's this thing about duct tape for veruccas? Does it work?

And what exactly do you do? Just put it on??

Any tape as long as you stop the verruca from breathing to kill it Confused

Put a patch of duct tape over the verruca. Try and have it on all the time.

Paint black nail varnish on the verruca and keep adding to it. Duct tape over the top if she'll wear it. Leave for a few days and then take a look

Bananas! Sounds whack but tried everything on my Son's - wouldn't budge. Gave up then had a google and it said wipe banana skin on them. It said you had to tape the skin on etc but expecting it not to work I just thoroughly covered on banana skin sludge before bed. Did it twice then forgot all about it. About a week later noticed all veruccas totally gone. While I'm on this subject, I once took my Son to hospital as he seemed very, very ill. Turns out he had a chronic ear infection. Doctors prescribed week of antibiotics and said keep on calpol for week. Wasn't keen on antibiotics so I had a google - thousands of people said make some garlic oil. I did, put in ears that night (prepared to give antibiotics next day) next morning it was completely gone. If he's ever had ear ache again I've made the oil and morning it's fine. Never got another ear infection. I'm not a mad hippie by the way but these things amazed me!

Great, that sounds much easier than pinning down a five year old to scrape her skin off!

I'll do the nail varnish and duct tape thing this morning.

Tried everything, the only thing that worked finally on DD's awful crop of verrucas was the Boots own brand freezing stuff - after first soaking and then filing them. Yuk!!! Good luck !!

Garlic is amazing @Whenthereshope

Nail varnish and duct tape has been administered, and now we wait...

One thing I found that worked instead of filling the verruca was to use a corn remover instead. Mine is a small blade type instrument. The blades are replaceable. Use it to cut off the dead skin instead of trying to file off the dead skin. I found it quicker and not ticklish..
