I've posted a few times on here about my DS (5) and him being ill alot this winter and his platelet levels being elevated due to viral infections. he's been blood tested 4 times since the beginning of the year but unfortunately has been constantly ill with cold or cough when it was time for a blood test 🙄
The dr said his CBC looked normal apart from his platelet levels being high. They do go down but not enough to be considered normal but then by the next test they go up again
First test he did have the last end of a cough and cold and swollen nodes
Second test had a lingering cough
Third test had just gotten over an ear infection and finished his antibiotics
His forth test he had ringworms a week before and also started on an inhaler (salbutamol) 2 days before test.
I do not know if these could make his levels high?
Now doctor says she wants to discuss his results tomorrow and might be referred to a paediatrician 😦
I'm so scared I feel sick to my stomach that it could be something serious but could it also just be bad luck that every time he has a test he does have something going on?
He's eating ok, drinking loads, plays all day, he seems fine to me but yeah if anyone has any knowledge or experience in this area please let me know your story
