Waiting for referral to paedatrician, feeling in limbo

5 year old dd was diagnosed with macular atrophy this week also called anetoderma. Its a degenerative condition that affects the skin and unfortunately there is no treatment for it.

Her dermatologist believes it was triggered by a very severe case of chicken pox (she was hospitalised with it) in 2016. Whats scaring me the most is that its often associated with underlying systemic diseases such as autoimmune diseases.

She has been referred to a paedatrician for blood tests and scans but the wait is killing me. I just want to know if and what we are dealing with Sad.

If anyone has experience of testing for immune system testing etc I would be greatful for any advice.
