Hi, my daughter got a hockey ball in her face at training and it cut the area below her brow a
Prob a little over a centimetre . It was 3.5 hours before she got seen at urgent care so starting to close up but they glued it - not enough purchase to put steri strips. This was we'd evening - it doesn't look as if probably closed up and very lumpy. I'm worried about bad scarring and not knowing whether anything can be done. She goes on a school trip next week so not sure if I take her bs I to the gp or minor injuries. She's 13 and very self conscious as its so visible. Any advice please.

How recent was it? This sounds extreme, but suggest you take her privately to see a plastic surgeon. NHS do just glue things up because its quick, easy and cheap.

Problem op, my sons wound is very lumpy. Apparently the wound will even out but it’s taking forever

Hi,
Many thanks , it was only last wed. I did take her to the go as I was concerned it was closed up. Dr said healing ok but will leave a scar. She's on a school trip now but though tid leave and see how it heals. Presumably the outcome of a plastic surgeon would be ok if left a year to see how it heals. I know I had some scars which have disappeared and other where they are there for ever. Mainly kneed so froom being a kid and I don't think the gravel was cleaned out !!
Expeir cel of how long you can leave before plastic surgeon if necessary. Can I wait a couple of years? And outcome would be no worse? Thanks again,

When wounds are to be glued or steristripped they should be cleaned pretty hard to remove the clot that is forming to heal the wound. If this is left it stops the two edges meeting nicely. Basically you have to break open the wound again during cleaning. If they didn’t do this the edges won’t come together neatly. It does hurt more though.

Nothing you can do now but wounds under the brow are often not noticeable.
