2.5YO lost voice, painful red cheeks

DD is 2.5 and has had a bad cold for about a week. She's developed a nasty cough and has lost her voice. She also has very red cheeks and is crying in pain whenever they are touched. No fever today but has had a fever on and off for a few days.

Is this slapped cheek? Is this a sinus infection? Is this just a bad cold? She's struggling to sleep with the cough and is refusing to eat but is still drinking in small amounts.

She has been with MIL today and I didn't realise quite how bad she was until she came home an hour ago. Have been unable to get a doctor's appointment for this evening with our regular surgery. Is this a case for OOH or do I ride out the night and make an appointment with GP first thing in the morning?

Any advice welcome! She's never ill other than a runny nose so I may well be overreacting and PFB about this.

Could be tonsillitis. Unless she has a really high fever, I'd ride it out, but try and get her seen tomorrow.

Could be slapped cheek if her cheeks are very red.

At the moment she is sleeping well, with the occasional cough. I'm hoping she'll get a good night's sleep and we can see how she is in the morning. Her temperature was down to normal just before she went to bed. Hopefully she'll be brighter in the morning.
