My dd 5 was at school and at lunch time ate a chip which seemed to have hurt going down since then she's refusing to eat anything other than soup and yoghurt I've taken her to the doctors and there's nothing wrong with her throats she keeps telling me she can't eat as she's scared of choking and it's like she's physically scared to swallow I still make her breakfast and dinner as normal and it all goes untouched I'm so worried
Has anyone dealt with this before

It's not exactly the same but my DD - 3 yrs had a sickness bug just before Christmas which left her with a very sore throat, at least we think so, DH who also had it said it did for him. She struggled to eat anything and for a few days what she did eat made her gag and she brought it back up, so she pretty much just stopped eating. I was very worried but on my DMs advice I just gave her exactly what she wanted for about a week, she ate ice lollies, ice cream, a bit of chocolate that sort of thing, she would also eat some fruit. I did make her proper meals just didn't try to force her to eat them. Gradually she just started to pick at them (I think Christmas and the fact we had lots of visitors for meals helped take the pressure off her) and was back eating normally within about 2-3 weeks. I know it's a different situation but hope this helps.
