I’ve noticed my daughter has a bit of a whiff about her. Very feint, but there.

Can you please advise when your daughters started wearing deodorant, and what brands you used.

I think gentle gentle gentle.

I just let my 8 year old choose which one she wanted, initially. But I also swapped to bar soap instead of shower gel, and that made a huge difference.

Most days we're all getting ready at the same time and I just spray all the kids when I'm doing my own.

My son started smelling very early too, but he hasn't hit puberty in fact until years later. I got a deodorant in Boots first, a Boots own brand roll-on called 'Kidz', and then after got him Vaseline ones when he needed something stronger.

My DD (9 now) needed deodorant at about the same age. We went for a simple, roll on one. I felt it was gentle for her but it still does the job...
It felt too early (my DS was about 11 before he started needing it!) but she’s got on ok with it and remembers most days. If she ever forgets she’s very whiffy!
No one wants to sit near a smelly child at school... She understands this and that she needs to wash/ shower ‘properly’. (I’ve obviously explained it in a nicer way than this to her!!)
I think it makes her feel quite grown up. She’s desperate for a spray on one but I think this is fine for the minute.

Ds2 is 8 and a half and still fine

It's quite normal now for kids to start using a gentle deodorant at this age ( most in my kids classes do). There are some made specifically for kids or else the most gentle you can find.
