How to tell the difference between Chilblains and Athlete's Foot

DD (13)'s toes on one foot are red and very itchy. She says it feels like they're radiating heat.

I'm inclined to think it might be chilblains as she never wears anything on her feet around the house and hasn't got good genes when it comes to circulation.

But on the other hand it could be Athletes Foot? Does anybody know how I can tell the difference.

Athletes foot is usually in the creases of the toes, chilblains aren't.
You can see a redenning with chilblains where the sore bit is.
Painful! Get some firestick(?) I think it's called.

Thanks. What's Firestick? A cream?

No, it's a green stick that you twist up like lipstick, smells of menthol amomgst other things.
It does work but really it's just time and don't warm cold feet on direct heat.

Thanks. I'll also be enforcing the wearing of socks/ slippers.
