Men B vaccine - still poorly a week later, 7 year old?

We decided to pay for our 3 children to have the newish Men B vaccine over the Christmas hols. 2 of them were poorly the next day - temperatures and very sore arms, but then fine.

However the 7 year old has continued to be poorly and its now a week later. Symptoms include:

  • temperatures on and off
  • nausea, loss of appetite and "nearly being sick" when he coughs
  • a bit of a cough
  • headache / weird head feeling
  • lethargic and pale
  • achy arm still (other arm is fine) and achy legs
  • one episode of diarrhea (today)
  • brightens up during the day but goes rapidly downhill from about 4pm onwards

Could this still be side effects of the vaccine, or just bad timing with a virus or similar? Can't decide whether to take him to the docs tomorrow, will have to be off school due to the diarrhea today. Any ideas? Thanks!

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

It could be due to jab or just be bad time and be something else.
I would suggest a gp trip to be sure.

What does the vaccine info say?

My youngest had a very swollen arm after the 2nd dose....lasted a few weeks

Thanks both, had a chat with GP for peace of mind, thinks unlikely to be vaccine but a virus caught at same time / while fighting off the vaccine. Got to go back next week if no improvement.
