Should I take him to the doctor do you think?

I can't see any obvious problems when I look at him but something is going on. He can be playing quite happily then suddenly grab his crotch and burst into tears. He then stops crying and might be fine for 24 hours or so then he'll have five minutes of grabbing at his crotch and getting upset then nothing again for another day or so.

Things I've considered are urine infection or twisted teste. He doesn't have a temperature and seems fine in himself. Shall I make a docs appointment on Tuesday fo you think. Will i need to try and get a urine sample?

Yes. And yes. In the morning before you go.

Yes, get a doctors appointment. Something is troubling him. Probably something trivial but get him checked.

My son of similar age has had a lot of urine infections which tend to start off similarly. I’d agree get doc app tomorrow, even use 111 to get OOH doc app referral. Doesn’t sound too bad if he’s not really showing discomfort but if it’s an infection I think it will only get worse over time.

Also yes definitely try to get urine sample to take wth you or they’ll just ask you to follow up with one.

madeyemoodysmum · 30/12/2017 23:37

My guess then is urine infection as you can't tell when he is peeing.
Is his penis red or sore at the tip ? ThAt would indicate balientitus. (I'm not sure if spelt right.)

It might be a tight foreskin. My DS had that and it wasn't obvious to look at.

SleepFreeZone · 30/12/2017 23:41

Interesting. The tip does look quite pink but nothing out of the ordinary. He is fine with nappy changes so doesn't seen in any immediate discomfort. Not sure about his foreskin, he isn't circumcised so I suppose it's possible.
