MMR early in context of outbreak? So conflicted

I'm completely at a loss as to what to do. There has been an outbreak of measles near to where I live, although the extent to which I am unsure of. I've got a baby who is 6 weeks off 1 year. My dilemma is as follows:
Do I wait until DC's birthday and follow the NHS vaccination schedule with the risk he could contract measles in the weeks before his bday?
OR
Do I have him vaccinated privately this week then follow vaccination schedule as I've been told is still necessary?
I'd hate to give him an additional early vaccination but on the other hand if I don't, and he contracts measles I'd be so guilty. I've had conflicting advice about the extent of the outbreak. If anyone has any insight I'd be tremendously grateful.

Would you really need to have an "additional" vaccination? We had a similar issue when DS was approaching the time of his Pre-school vaccinations (so 3.4 years old or thereabouts). There were confirmed cases at his nursery, so we phoned the GP who said we could vaccinate him with the second dose of the MMR early (i think we were about 2 months early, from memory). They wouldn't give him the other jabs scheduled for the same time early as well, so we had to go back when they were due to complete the pre-school schedule, but he didn't have to have the MMR again. Not sure if it will be different as it's the first dose??

I would take NHS advice on this.

You don't have to pay privately, Nhs can do it even at 3 months if there is an outbreak
