Toddler not eating, pale poo's and very unhappy

Hello,
My toddler (21 months) has been off food for nearly 2 weeks but has practically eaten nothing in the last week. She’ll take occasional sips of water in the day and about 300 - 400 ml of milk at night when she wakes coughing. I took her to see a doctor on Monday and apparently although her throat and ears are red, there is no sign of infection (but has put a referral though to see a paediatrician in a few weeks time Hmm). She is doing a poo every day that is very loose and getting paler and is very unhappy.
I was wondering if there might be anything else going on and whether to go back to the doctor - I’ll have to book an emergency app and I feel so awkward about potentially wasting time Blush
Any tips would be really appreciated!

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

The poo is pale and runny because she mostly drinks milk and doesn’t eat properly. It is definitely not normal for a child not to eat for so long. It is common that they wouldn’t have much appetite if sick and have fever. I wouldn’t wait for a few weeks for paediatrician, i’d go to hospital or to a private paediatrician asap tbh. If you have conserns for your child’s well-being act according to your maternal instincts, don’t be afraid of waisting someone’s time.

If you’re concerned, go back or up to hospital.

Medical professionals are always happy to see young children and you will never be accused of wasting their time.

Thanks, I’ll take her back to the doctor this morning. Think I just needed to hear that I’m not being a neurotic first time mum!

Pale poo can be a sign of coeliac disease.
