Fever in 1 year old - when to go to GP

DD2 has had a fever for the past 3 days with a cough and cold. I can't find my digital thermometer to get an accurate reading but in the meantime I've bought a forehead thermometer and according to that she's been around 38 degrees. Tonight she's feeling much hotter (just giving her a feed then I'll check her temp). After how many days with a fever would you get it checked with the GP?

The docs will be concerned if she has a fever that can't be bought down by calpol. If she's hydrated or not.
38 and above is high so maybe go for your piece of mind.
Digital thermometers are often on offer on amazon. Hope she's feeling better soon

Her temp is now between 39 & 40 and not coming down with Calpol.

That requires a trip to children's A&E, I'm afraid. It's not worth chancing it, it could be a sign of something serious.

Straight to A&E

Her temperature has come down after ibuprofen and she seems fine in herself. But she's had a couple of spots come up. She had her first dose of MMR last Wednesday and I know that they can come out with the measles rash after 7 days so I'm wondering if that's what this is. Each spot (she's only had 4) seems to start off looking like an insect bite - a white bump with red around it - then goes to being a red bump and then fades leaving a red blemish on the skin. Does this seem like the measles rash from the vaccine?
