Its taken me abavk somewhat - never noticed this before but tonight it is shockinly quite prominent that you cant miss it.

Dr google is scaring the pants off me.

DH has a massive dip in his chest - he is 43 and perfectly healthy. Always had it, apparently. Is it possible that you've just not noticed? It can happen!!

Just seen the link - yeah, that's what DH has. Never caused any issues, apart from once; he was in the US and had a heart scan, but they didn't adjust their machine to account for this 'feature'. They advised open-heart surgery to fix the issue they were sure he had!! He declined, flew home and got an NHS check; the NHS adjusted the machine and went 'Yeah, you're perfectly fine.' So that might be worth bearing in mind for the future.....machines don't always work well with it.

Otherwise, really don't worry!

My 11 year old has had pectus excavatum since birth. He had chest x-rays done to make sure his organs wouldn't be affected but other than that nothing.

There are surgeries to rectify it but having read what's involved (and the surgery is purely cosmetic) we immediately discounted it.

DS's class mates are fascinated by it when they go for swimming lessons! Our GP told me he hadn't seen it on anyone as young as DS before and that was when DS was 2.
