Dark Blotch ON TOP OF Stork Bite on Back of 4mo Head

Hi, I am a first-time mom of a very rambunctious 4-month-old boy. I am educated on stork bites and angel kisses, both of which he has.

The reason why I am concerned is because he has a bright pink-purplish blotch the diameter of a quarter on top of the stork bite on the back of his head. I have watch it enlarge and darken since he was about a month old. It can fade and it can darken, for instance, it will be a darker, more magenta when he is straining. It will disappear when I apply pressure with my finger and then return. The skin there seems a tad bit more puffy and dry. I called his pediatrician and she said it sounds like localized eczema and to apply Aveeno, which has had no effect. His next appointment is in ten days but I wanted some peace of mind before then. Have any other mom's experienced something like this?
