DD1 (2.10) was recently in hospital with pneumonia. At one point they did an ECG as her heart rate peaked at 220 bpm and was consistently at 200 bpm. ECG was all fine and they just put it down to the infection. Today she had a tantrum - not the worse but she was pretty upset - and I tried to calm her down by giving her a cuddle and her heart was pounding. It felt how it did while she was in hospital. It's logical to assume that any kind of upset/stress would increase your heart rate but is it normal for it to be completely racing to that degree? She has an appointment with her consultant in January so I don't know if it's worth mentioning then. I don't know if it could be that her heart rate was high which was making her agitated and kick started the tantrum (seemingly out of no where) or if the tantrum was causing it. Just to add that she is an ex prem baby with a history of bradycardia but no known heart problems since.
