Non blanching rash but seems well. What do I do?

DD aged 5 has a rash on her legs and bottom. It looks like a combination of red bumps and tiny bruises. She has no temp and is acting like her normal self. But the rash is not blanching under pressure. What should I do?

Take a picture for comparisons in an hour or so- if you ring 111 they will tell you to take to ooh or a and e-

Honestly, that's the best advice I can give. Meningitis is not one to fuck around with, and ooh/a and e never grumble about a non blanching rash being brought in!

Cal 111 for advice? We can't see the rash and most of us are not medically trained so our advice could be utter pants.

111 is one option but in my area if I called my gp at this time I'd be put through to the out of hours gp service who will triage over the phone and either give me an appointment, direct me to a&e or advise me to wait till normal go hours. (Or send an ambulance as they did when ds2 had croup and they heard the stridor over the phone).

Good job :) the only thing i ever think is: what if I didn't get it checked and it turned out to be the worst case scenario!? You would just never forgive yourself

We're back. Dr gave her a thorough check over and reckons it's a viral rash. We're home and she's asleep now. Must say that the NHS have been brilliant today - everyone was very efficient and reassuring.

Glad to hear it, I've taken both dd's (now 2 and 6) to ooh and a and e for a non blanching rash, most times with happy bouncy children and felt a fraud! But I'd rather take them a thousand times and be right on the one time it could save their life!
