Baby gets blocked nose/ mucus every morning!

Calling on the wisdom of other mums as HV didn't have much to offer on the subject.
DD2 is 6 weeks tomorrow but since she has been born she suffers with what sounds like mucus at the back of her throat and a blocked nose starting from about 4am. I know babies can be snuffly but she doesn't have this during the day or the rest of the night. When I feed her past 4am ish she can't breathe properly through her nose and ends up taking loads of air in during the feed. She then won't settle like she does the rest of the night and will only settle propped up in my arms. I'm not sure if that's due to all the extra air she swallowed or because her nose is blocked. By about 6.30-7am it's started clearing then she's okay for the rest of the day. Does anyone else have experience of this? Any advice greatly appreciated.

Have you tried elevating her crib slightly? Putting something under the legs at the top end (we used to use my DH's trainers)

DS suffered with a blocked nose and nose bleeds when he was tiny, we had the moses basket elevated, kept the room cool and bought a humidifier which really helped. He grew out of it at about 8 months

She sleeps next to me at the moment as that's where she settles best. Spent a fortune on a SnuzPod though so hoping to get her in it soon! DD1 co slept for 8 months though Confused
I have thought about elevating her cot though and trying her in it again. I was using those calpol vapour plug in things which maybe helped a little when she first started with it but at £6 for 5 it's a pricey job! I'm hoping it's something she grows out of soon!

I didn't find the plug in things any good but the humidifier made a huge difference

Thanks smiling I'll have a look on Amazon, probably come in handy for when DD1 is blocked up too!
