Hard lump near 10yo boys nipple

My 10yo son just showed me a hard lump that has appeared on the left side of his left nipple..ill be making a doctor appointment in the morning
Im very concerned.has anyone any experience of this happening to their young son??

yes it is part of puberty for a lot of boys my now 14 year old had this as did some of his friends.

Yes, they're the male equivalent of breast buds in girls. Ds says they're very painful!

Maybe have a chat with the doctor, I think they're usually tender but you never know there will always be exceptions.

Thanks for the replies everyone.couldnt get a doc appointment for today so have to wait till tomor,but it seems the general opinion is something to do with puberty so im a little calmer!!thank you Smile
