4 month old baby- blood on sheets

Hi everyone
My 16 week old baby was very unsettled yesterday when we out her to bed at 7pm and when we went upstairs to check on her, there was blood on her cot sheet. It looked quite diluted but it was definitely light red. I changed the sheet and half an hour later the same thing happened again. She is drooling a lot and putting her fists and fingers in her mouth but I can't feel or see any actual teeth coming through.
Does anyone have any experience of this? She's being quite clingy too and seems to be teething. One of her nails was a bit pointy (I noticed yesterday) so she could have scratched herself but she had no noticeable scratches on her.
Normally she's so happy so there's definitely something wrong

When I found blood on DDs bed at that age it was caused by teeth pushing through the gum. Have you checked to see if any new teeth are showing?

I still think that is the most likely cause, though.

DD1 did this while teething. Have you checked to see if any teeth are breaking through?

Sorry, didn't read properly! I'd just keep an eye on her and if it persists then give your GP a call.

Ds used to get nose bleeds, really quite alarming!

Thanks everyone. It's hard to check when she's so agitated but I couldn't feel any teeth at all. If she's had a nosebleed I'd expect to see blood around her nose but there was none. I'll definitely keep an eye on her.
