How many greys have you found? What did the GP say? Has she any other unusual symptoms, or is she well in herself apart from the grey hair?

SeasonalVag · 15/05/2016 07:34

My kids have got a grey hair each. doc says its one of those things, and i had one from the age of 14, just the one and am really not showing much grey at all at 42.

Jacquititley123 · 15/05/2016 07:35

About 5 she was really sharp and said theirs nothing you can do about it taking her back to see a different go

My 2yo has a grey hair, wouldn't occur to me to go to the GP about it!

I went to the GP as it could be a vitamin b12 deficiency which can cause serious complications if left untreated

I have no medical training at all but does she also have vitiligo where she has loss of pigment on her skin? As a child I had this grown out of it to some extent now and my mum always thought that was why I had some grey hairs.

I always got the odd one as a child as does dd. Wouldn't think to take her to the docs for that alone. It's perfectly normal as far as I'm aware.

Jacquititley123 · 15/05/2016 07:42

Yes she's well and thanks for the replays ( some of them) makes me feel better some have also had the same

I used to get grey hairs as a child, particularly when I was unwell.

Unless there are other symptoms, I wouldn't worry unduly. You could always give her a vitamin B12 supplement.

DrE678 · 15/05/2016 07:45

Are the grey hairs all in one patch? I had a small streak of grey in my fringe as a child and have seen a few other children with a patch too but never someone who had gone entirely grey.

Dellarobia · 15/05/2016 07:45

Like ineed I have vitiligo which caused some white hair as a child. Does she have white patches of skin?

Jacquititley123 · 15/05/2016 07:51

No they are scattered and no white patches not that I'm aware off

DD(9) has this and has done since she was little, the odd grey hair here and there, they are not really noticable though. She eats well and is healthy, had just assumed it's one of those things! She's not bothered by them.

Cheekybiscuit · 17/05/2016 22:54

Feel very relieved finding this as found a solitary grey hair on DS head today. He is only 8! Wasn't sure if I should take him to GP. Neither DH or I have any grey hair yet so wasn't expecting this at all.

foofoo001 · 17/05/2016 23:19

My dd is 2 1/2 and has had one grey hair for months, it would never have occurred to me to go to a doctor!!
