Over night my daughter has three patches of red sore skin. Under armpit, base of side of neck and just above her groin to one side.

Yes they can although it could be something else.

Has she had chicken pox in the past? Could be childhood shingles (ds had them at age 3 and was misdiagnosed at first as having eczema)

Yes

And shingles is localised to one side of the body too. Do you have any pictures?

FromMyHeadTomatoes · 30/04/2016 08:59

Yes they can. I had eczema at around the same age on and off for a couple of years and then never had it since.

She is asleep at the moment. Two patches on one side and third on the other. She had very mild chickenpox about a year ago. No family history of eczema or allergies

Now noticed a red rash up the back of her legs - done glass test and okay

Yes I developed excemA for the first time this year at 32!

Yes.

But.... DD has eczema and had what I thought was a new patch under one arm, GP said it was most likely fungal and now she has a course of Daktarin cream to clear it. So I would probably suggest a GP review if you can get one, to be sure.

Anything changed? Could be contact dermatitis?
