Acid reflux in 3yr old - what support is out there? Good products?

My DD (3yrs old) has had severe acid reflux since she was a small baby.

Does anyone know of websites dedicated to providing advice and support for this?
Can anyone recommend any good products? Pillows, diet books, anything?!!!

I can thoroughly recommend the Tucker wedge for young babies, which was a rip off but worth the money.

The severity of my DD's reflux is just dawning on me. My GP has finally referred my DD to hospital for it. We've been waiting for her to grow out of it (on GP's advice) but it's getting worse. She regurgitates (not sure if that's the right term), and gasps for air after every meal and when lying down for sleep. It sometimes leads to vomiting. She also chokes regularly on her food. We thought she wasn't chewing enough before swallowing. She's a very fussy eater, poor thing. But she's very tall for her age so the Dr didn't seem too bothered.

Omeprazole (Losec) worked wonders for my son - he's still on it at primary age.

I hope for her sake your DD is fully investigated by a consultant and gets the necessary help.

Only 'lifestyle' thing I can think of is to feed / eat little and often - but I'm sure you know that already.

Sorry to resurrect an old thread, but this is in case any other desperate parents out there find this post when they Google acid reflux:

I have found a UK charity dealing with reflux and it has support groups and advice etc:- it's called Living With Reflux (www.livingwitheeflux.org).
